Jen Gunderman is an assistant professor of musicology at Vanderbilt University and a freelance musician who has performed and recorded with various artists, including Kris Kristofferson, Sheryl Crow, and Emmylou Harris. She teaches courses on American popular music history and the music business on Coursera and offers a popular skills certificate program.

Jen Gunderman has been a musician nearly all of her life. Hailing from Topeka, Kansas, Jen made her way to the stages and studios of Nashville, Tennessee as a keyboardist and vocalist.
She is an assistant professor of musicology at Vanderbilt University’s Blair School of Music, where she previously hosted and directed Conversations at Blair, an interview series featuring guests such as Crow and Peter Frampton.
