Jim Henman Bio. Writing his first tune, at age 12, Jim spent much of his youth strumming a Stella acoustic guitar on the sandy shores of Clam Harbour, Nova Scotia. Jim wrote his first song on this Stella.

Jim Henman can remember the exact day he first met Myles Goodwyn in 1963. Henman’s family had just moved to Halifax from rural Clam Harbour in eastern Nova Scotia.
In the fall of 1971 Jim Henman left the band and was replaced by Montreal native Jim Clench. Famed producer Ralph Murphy worked with the group on their second album On Record. Murphy’s mission was to give April Wine a major international hit and he came very close to doing just that.
