Venuti was with him during that time, and was active with the Las Vegas Symphony Orchestra during the 1960s. He was 'rediscovered' in the late 1960s. In the 1970s, he established a musical relationship with tenor saxophonist Zoot Sims resulting in three recordings.

The veteran violinist Joe Venuti really hit it off with tenor great Zoot Sims (who is also heard here on soprano) and the results were three very memorable albums. Their first recorded encounter finds the two principal voices joined by the stride piano master Dick Wellstood, bassist George Duvivier and drummer Cliff Leeman.
