Johannes Stark was a German physicist who discovered the Doppler effect and the splitting of spectral lines in electric fields. He also studied the electric currents in gases, spectroscopic analysis and chemical valency. He was a prolific writer and President of the Physikalisch-Technische Reichsanstalt and the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft.
8. Dez. 2023 · 1919 erhält Johannes Stark den Nobelpreis für Physik für „die Entdeckung des Dopplereffekts bei den Kanalstrahlen“. 1920 wechselt Stark nach Würzburg, wo er die Nachfolge von Wilhelm Wien übernimmt und aufgrund Differenzen 1922 ausscheidet.
