John "Buddy" Bailey died on 3 February 1994 in Las Vegas, NV. Prior to his death, Bailey performed solo, choosing to work with established Doo Wop group The Calvanes (which included former Bailey-Clovers member Bobby Adams) as well as appearances with Jimmy Nabbie's Ink Spots.

9. Sept. 2018 · The Clovers were formed in 1946 by Harold “Hal” Lucas at Armstrong High School in Washington D.C. The original members included Lucas, Thomas Woods, and Billy Shelton. A fourth member, John “Buddy” Bailey joined the group as the lead singer while Lucas moved to baritone.
