John Charles is a legend of British football and a hero in Turin. He played as a centre-forward or centre-half for Leeds, Juventus, Roma and other clubs, scoring 95 goals in Serie A and winning three league titles. He was also a gentle giant with a gentle demeanour and a professional commitment.
