Ein Long John ist ein zweirädriges Lastenrad mit einer Box vorne im Sichtfeld. Die tiefe Ladefläche ist zwischen dem Lenker und dem meist kleineren Vorderrad (20 Zoll) positioniert. Die Bewegung des Lenkers wird mittels einer Lenkstange oder Seilzuglenkung auf das Vorderrad übertragen und es fährt sich mit etwas Übung fast wie ein normales Fahrrad.
