John Larry Jefferson (né Washington; born February 3, 1956) is an American former professional football player who was a wide receiver in the National Football League (NFL). After playing college football with the Arizona State Sun Devils , he was selected in the first round of the 1978 NFL Draft by the San Diego Chargers .

John Jefferson played for Arizona State from 1974 to 1977 and was a 1977 Consensus All-America. He set an NCAA record by catching passes in 42 consecutive games and was a four-time Pro Bowler in the NFL.
