Sept. 2024 · If John Joseph Mccarthy was born in 1875, and he was the same child as George Mccarthy in this census AND MJK was the birth mother; then she may have been as young as 16 when she had the baby. That would make MJK born in 1859 or 1860 at a push. Meaning MJK would have been circa 28 when she was murdered and not 25.

15. Okt. 2020 · Reckon someone had to alert Jack when Barnett moved out. Jack was headed towards Dorset Street when he wrote GSG, after killing the other Mary Ann Kelly. Then there is the forced entry to 13 Millers Court. McCarthy supported the London Hospital. The double event happened long before Barnett left MJK, by about 5 weeks.

25. Okt. 2020 · Because the murder of MJK brought McCarthy into the spotlight, made him notorious. Well, I'm not sure it's the case that Duckworth's belief in McCarthy's notoriety comes from his having been MJK's landlord. Their are two local figures in the notes from 17th and 18th March 1898 which he pays such attention to, Jack McCarthy and F. Geringer.
There's a boxing promoter named J. McCarthy who arranged a boxing event at the Duke's Tavern, in Duke's Place in December 1885 to raise funds for the Victoria Park Hospital. Then a John McCarthy of Dorset Street, Spitalfields winning a 'loving cup' for raising funds for the Victoria Park Hospital in January 1886.
24. Okt. 2020 · John McCarthy did indeed do a lot for the local area. He was a prominent figure of the local community and may have been considered an upstanding memebr of the community. But with power, comes corruption There is no way that a man like McCarthy didn't know about the fact that prostitutes were working from Millers Court.
