5. Sept. 2023 · The highest ranked Augusta area school was Davidson Fine Arts Magnet School, which came in at the third-best public high school in the state. The magnet school was also among the top 200 in the U.S. and a top-50 magnet school in the nation. A.R. Johnson Magnet School ranked No. 24 in the state.
He served on the board for 21 years, 15 of which he served as president. He is still known as the "Father of Education in Richmond County." John S. Davidson Fine Arts Magnet School is named in his memory.
