John Seiter (born August 17, 1944) is an American musician. He is best known for his work as a drummer for Spanky and Our Gang and The Turtles. Biography. Seiter's first official credit came on a 1972 recording of Peter and the Wolf for United Artists, the brainchild of actor and director Rob Reiner.

23. Jan. 2020 · Seiter became a session drummer most notably working on Tom Waits debut album, “Closing Time” which was produced by his old bandmate Jerry Yester. He also appeared on albums by Aztec Two-Step, Odetta and George Clinton. In 1972, he played drums and percussion on a recording of “Peter And The Wolf”.

John Seiter was born on 17 August 1944. He is best known for his work as a drummer, but has also recorded as a keyboard player and vocalist. He has recorded with varied performers such as Aztec Two Step, the Turtles, Jane Getz, Tom Waits, and The Conception Corporation.
Spanky and Our Gang was an American 1960s sunshine pop band led by Elaine "Spanky" McFarlane. The band derives its name from Hal Roach 's Our Gang comedies of the 1930s (known to modern audiences as The Little Rascals ), because of the similarity of McFarlane's surname with that of George McFarland (Spanky).
