John Shelley ( ジョン・シェリー) is a British illustrator, particularly noted for his work in Japan. Career. John Shelley (born 1959) grew up in Sutton Coldfield before studying illustration at Bournville School of Art and Manchester Polytechnic under Tony Ross.

Having formerly lived in Tokyo for many years, John has developed a uniquely international career, working directly with publishers in Japan and the USA as well as the UK on over 50 books. But how did his journey start?
ジョン・シェリーについて. イギリス、バーミンガム生まれ。 ボーンビル・スクール・オブ・アート、マンチェスター ポリテクニックでイラストレーションを専攻。 ロンドンで児童書イラストレーターとして活動を開始しして、ファサードアートスタジオを設立しました。 その後、長年東京で在住。 日本で広告イラストで注目を浴びて、テレビコマーシャルからキャラクターグッズまで多数制作。 絵本は日本、イギリスをはじめ、アメリカ、ヨーロッパ各国でも出版されている。 現在、日本とイギリスで時間を分けています。 数年間、JAGDAの国際員会でヴォランテイアしました。 児童書の作家とイラストレーター協会 SCBWI の長年の主催者であり、作家協会 Society of Authors の会員です。
