Sir John Ronald Leon, 4th Baronet (born 16 August 1934), known professionally as John Standing, is an English actor. Early life. Standing was born in London, the son of Kay Hammond (née Dorothy Katherine Standing), an actress, and Sir Ronald George Leon, 3rd Baronet, a stockbroker descended from Sir Herbert Leon, the builder of Bletchley Park.
John Standing is a respected English actor who has appeared in stage, film and TV productions since 1959. He is also a baronet, a descendant of a distinguished acting dynasty, and a former art student who painted and drew.
