José Lázaro Fuerte Advíncula Jr. OP (born March 30, 1952) is a Filipino prelate of the Catholic Church and a professed member of the Dominican Order, who became 33rd Archbishop of Manila on June 24, 2021. He became a cardinal in November 2020. He previously served as bishop of San Carlos from 2001 to 2011 and Archbishop of Cápiz from 2011 to 2021.

3. Jan. 2021 · His Holiness Pope Francis has appointed Cardinal Jose F. Advincula of the Archdiocese of Capiz as the new Archbishop of Manila. The Pope made the announcement on Thursday, March 25, Feast of the Annunciation of the Lord, at 12 noon, Rome time (7 pm in Manila). Cardinal Advincula will be the 33 rd Archbishop of Manila.
25 March 2021 – JOSE F. Cardinal ADVINCULA became the Archbishop-elect of Manila. Manila was established as a suffragan diocese of Mexico on February 6, 1579 by Pope Gregory XIII by virtue of the Apostolic Constitution “Illius fulti praesido,” following the first successful missionary efforts.
28. Nov. 2020 · Cardinal Jose F. Advincula, Archbishop of Capiz, Philippines, ordained a priest for the archdiocese in 1976. The 68-year old cardinal was the spiritual director of the St. Pius X Seminary, where he was also professor and dean of education. He studied Psychology and Canon Law between Manila and Rome, obtaining a licentiate in Canon Law.
