Joyride is effectively one of three albums by Brotherhood, a group formed by Phil Volk, Drake Levin and Mike "Smitty" Smith after they left Paul Revere & the Raiders in 1967. As with the group's other albums, it was recorded for RCA Victor, but was released under the nom de plume Friendsound.

Volk later used it in one of the cuts on the Friendsound Joyride album called, "Child Song". Volk took dance lessons and gymnastics. [1] At the age of 13, Volk watched Elvis Presley on the Ed Sullivan Show.
Upon leaving Paul Revere & The Raiders, Drake Levin, Phil Volk & Michael Smith formed Brotherhood who released two albums for RCA.
