New Seekers: Kathy Ann Rae. When the New Seekers re-formed in 1976 Kathy Ann Rae was brought in as Lyn Paul's replacement. Although Kathy resembled Lyn, she had a very different style and brought a new facet to the sound of the group. Born on 7th March 1957 in Cambridge, Kathy (pictured below) was the youngest member of the New Seekers.
Kathy Ann Rae: The New Seekers re-formed in April 1976 with a new line-up. Danny Finn replaced Peter Oliver and Kathy Ann Rae took over from Lyn Paul. Although this line-up scored three Top 50 hits in the UK, the "new" New Seekers never matched the success of the previous line-ups with Lyn Paul, Peter Doyle and Peter Oliver.
In 1976, the New Seekers reformed with Kathy Ann Rae and Danny Finn replacing Lyn Paul and Peter Oliver. Cathy, who was first known to New Seekers' fans as Kathy Ann Rae, had replaced Lyn Paul in the New Seekers' line-up in 1976. She died on 11th January. February 2011 brought better news: on 28th February a CD of long-lost demo recordings was released by Marty Kristian.
