The icon of the Holy Trinity in the Side-Chapel was given to the College by its author, Ian Knowles, in gratitude for his time as an undergraduate at Keble and as a sign of his continuing support. Ian is the Principal of the Bethlehem Icon School, part of the Bethlehem Icon Centre that he founded in 2012, about which more information can be found at www.bethlehemiconcentre.org .
Keble College was originally established to extend access to Oxford University, and it remains true to that founding vision. We have students from all backgrounds and every corner of the globe. Keble students join a community where learning is valued and encouraged, but where there’s scope to develop in many other ways too.
Student Handbook. The Student Handbook is prepared by the College Officers and provides all of the essential information on academic matters, discipline, domestic matters, welfare, and financial information. There is also a separate document containing the main Policies and Codes of Practice. You can search both documents using Ctrl+F.
By 2003 Keble was one of the largest colleges, yet could only offer accommodation to two-thirds of its students. Furthermore, as part of the College’s vision for 2020, it needed facilities to encourage research clusters, provide space for interdisciplinary working, and increase provision for graduate students.
