Jerry Jeff Walker (* 16. März 1942 in Oneonta, New York als Ronald Clyde Crosby; † 23. Oktober 2020 in Austin, Texas) [1] war ein US-amerikanischer Country -Sänger und Songwriter. Sein bekanntester Song ist Mr. Bojangles.
In the nineties he operated Music Cellar studios in Colorado where Chuck Pyle’s “Keepin’ Time By The River” was recorded. Jerry Jeff Walker, Jennifer Warnes and several of Jackson Brown’s band joined the project. Rudy has since recorded his own songs and has two CD’s available, “Places” and “Undiscovered”.
6. Okt. 2022 · Although Robert Clyde Crosby was born in upstate New York, upon relocating to Austin, Texas in the early 70s, he changed his name to Jerry Jeff Walker. That was the beginning of becoming a prominent artist whose edgy approach was newly tagged as “outlaw” or “cosmic cowboy” music. When Walker passed in 2020, his reputation was legendary.
