8. Dez. 2023 · Klaus von Klitzing wurde am 28.6.1943 in Schroda, Posen geboren. Nach der Flucht aus Posen kam 1945 die Familie nach Niedersachsen. In Quakenbrück legte von Klitzing sein Abitur 1962 ab und begann dann Physik an der TU Braunschweig zu studieren. Hier schloss er sein Studium 1969 mit dem Diplom ab.
The former department of Klaus von Klitzing at the Max Planck Institute for Solid State Research (MPI) is dedicated to the research of electronic properties of 2-, 1-, and 0-dimensional electron systems, such as the quantum Hall effect, electron-phonon interactions, and exciton condensation. The department uses magnetic fields, low temperatures, and various techniques to characterize and prepare low-dimensional systems and their nanostructures.
