  2. Clarence White (born Clarence Joseph LeBlanc; June 7, 1944 – July 15, 1973) [1] was an American bluegrass and country guitarist and singer. [2] [3] He is best known as a member of the bluegrass ensemble the Kentucky Colonels and the rock band the Byrds, as well as for being a pioneer of the musical genre of country rock during the late 1960s. [3] .

  3. His singing had improved since his infrequent vocal showcases with the Byrds, and his bluegrass-rock blend took the Muleskinner sound one step further. Then, on July 14, just as his career was really taking off, Clarence White had his fatal encounter with a drunk driver.
