4. Sept. 2011 · Laurie McAllister, final bassist of The Runaways and also of The Orchids, passed away on August 25th due to asthma. I was out of town when I first got the news, so I apologize for not posting this sooner. My deepest sympathies go out to her family, friends, and fans. The L.A. Laurie sustituyó a Vicki Blue en noviembre de 1978 y estuvo en la banda en sus últimos conciertos hasta su disolución tan solo dos meses después, en enero del 79. Laurie McAllister formó otro grupo de chicas, The Orchids, con Kim Fowley. Lanzaron un LP en MCA Records antes la disolución.
