The Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute in Los Angeles is a private institution and is approved for operation by the Bureau of Private Post-Secondary Education . Approval to operate means the institution is compliant with the minimum standards contained in the California Private Postsecondary Education Act of 2009 (as amended) and Division 7.5 of Title 5 of the California Code of Regulations.
Patrick Bonavitacola received his training as an actor at The Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute from Lee Strasberg. Lee invited him to become part of The Actors Studio community in 1979, and he has been associated with The Studio for more than 35 years now—first as an actor, and for the last 15 years as a member of the Playwright/Directors Unit.
YOUNG ACTORS AT STRASBERG. Intensive actor training and development. Students explore the creative process and skills of acting technique Grades 2-12. The Full-Time Program is 12 weeks, with 22 hour s per week of classes. This program includes 8 hours of Method Acting and 14 hours electives of the students choice, chosen from the available classes. In Summer term the program is 10 weeks/26 hour hours per week of classes. The Part-Time program consists of 12 weeks at 8 hours per week.
Method in Focus. 4 Weeks | $350. A month-long class dedicated to a more focused study of Method Acting. Open to LSTFI alumni and students who have completed Method 101. Young Actors. 12 Weeks | $1200. Online Method Acting classes for students in Grades 7-12. Meets on Saturdays during the traditional school year (Fall, Winter, Spring).
The Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute does not offer housing; however, there is a private Discord group for accepted students to post and search for roommates. We highly recommend sharing an apartment with another student(s) to help reduce costs. Rent can range from $1,800-$5,500 for Studio-3 Bedroom apartments. Formerly a professor at NYU/Tisch Film & TV Department, Ms. Cohen has been a faculty member at The Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute for over 25 years. In October, 2008, Ms. Cohen was honored to represent the United States in the work of Lee Strasberg, at the international Methodic Theatrical Festival in Tuscany.
