Apr. 2024 · This was a tough list to prepare, because for some letters there are multiple artists who are among my favorites: C (John Cale, Can, Coil), N (Nico, Nurse With Wound), V (Christina Vantzou, Suzanne Vega, Vindicatrix). There are some artists I don't consider myself a huge fan of, like Univers Zero, but there is not much competition for the letter U.

Recorded on November 17, 1977, at Northern Studio near Boston and broadcast on WCOZ, this seminal performance took place just two months after the band released its debut, Talking Heads ’77.
