Die Staatliche Universität für Wirtschaft und Finanzen Sankt Petersburg wurde 1930 als Hochschule für Finanzwirtschaft Leningrad (russisch Ленинградский финансово-экономический институт, ЛФЭИ /Leningradski finansovo-ekonomitscheski institut, LFSI) gegründet. Im Kriege wurde der Lehrbetrieb in den Kaukasus evakuiert.
Pushkin Leningrad State University is situated in a perfect location on the outskirts of a quiet town (Pushkin) in 10 minutes from beautiful parks and the historical part of the town. At the same time transport connection is really convenient: buses go by the University bus stop every 5 minutes and students can get to Saint-Petersburg subway in 20 minutes and explore the Venice of the North.
The University was founded on March 28, 1992 with the name “Leningrad Regional Pedagogical Institute”. In 2008 the University acquired the name of a great Russian poet Alexander Pushkin and was renamed as Pushkin Leningrad State University.
