Lenny Kaye (né Kusikoff; born December 27, 1946) is an American guitarist, composer, and writer who is best known as a member of the Patti Smith Group, led by vocalist and poet Patti Smith.
Lenny Kaye is a musician, writer, and record producer who has been involved with the creative impulse of the music since the 1960s. He has played guitar for Patti Smith, Waylon Jennings, and other artists, and co-authored a book on garage-rock. He has also worked with Suzanne Vega, Jim Carroll, and other artists.
