Suggesting “Let it Be” was part of a creative spurt also is clearly a positive comment. It’s too bad the myth that he disliked the song is so widely disseminated.

'Mother Mary' in der ersten Zeile des Liedes ist eine Referenz auf Paul McCartneys eigene Mutter und steht für Trost und Weisheit. Der wiederholte Refrain 'Let it be' betont die Wichtigkeit, Dinge geschehen zu lassen und Weisheit in der Akzeptanz zu finden.
