Bodegas Licinia wurde im Jahr 2005 von Victor Algora gegründet. Das Weingut befindet sich in Morata de Tajuña, 40 km südöstlich von Madrid. Licinia besitzt 28 ha Weinberge, die ökologisch gepflegt werden. Victor stammt aus einer Familie mit langjähriger Weinbautradition.
Licinia ist eine Cuvee mit 64 % der einheimischen Tempranillo als Anker, die andere Hälfte besteht aus 26 % Cabernet Sauvignon und 10 % Syrah. Licinia belegte im Jahr 2020 bei der jährlichen Blindverkostung der Schweizer Zeitschrift "Blick" den ersten Platz.

Licinia (flourished 1st century BC & 1st century) was a daughter of the consul in 14 BC and governor Marcus Licinius Crassus and sister of Roman Senator Marcus Licinius Crassus Frugi. She married Lucius Calpurnius Piso who became consul in 27 and was the mother of Gaius Calpurnius Piso , the leader of the Pisonian Conspiracy in 65.
