The Exciters were an American pop music group of the 1960s. They were originally a girl group, with one male member being added afterwards. At the height of their popularity the group consisted of lead singer Brenda Reid, Herb Rooney, Carolyn Johnson and Lillian Walker.
Die Vorgängergruppe hieß Masterettes und bestand aus Brenda Reid, Carol Johnson, Lillian Walker und Sylvia Wilbur. Als Herbert Rooney (* 1941) bei deren Schwestergruppe Masters rausflog, schloss er sich 1962 als Ersatz für Wilbur den Masterettes an. Diese benannten sich danach in Exciters um.
(February 6, 2023) Tonight we are sad to report the passing of Lillian Walker-Moss, co-founder of the doo-wop group The Exciters, known for the 1963 smash hit “Tell Him.” Walker-Moss died after a battle with angiosarcoma.

Lillian Walker (1887-1975) was a popular actress in silent films, known as "Dimples". She started as a showgirl in Broadway and starred in Vitagraph Studios, then became a character actress in Hollywood.
Lillian Walker. Actress: Hearts and the Highway. Born in Brooklyn, New York, Lillian Walker was a 22-year-old showgirl appearing in "The Follies of 1910" on Broadway, when Vitagraph Studios head J. Stuart Blackton saw a picture of her and snapped her up for a role in The Inherited Taint (1911).
