Recorded at Columbia 30th Street Studio, New York City (#1–8) on July 21, 1958, and live at the Newport Jazz Festival, Newport, Rhode Island (#9–14) on July 3, 1958. The studio tracks are mono, the live performances are stereo. Tracks 10 to 13 are bonus tracks, not part of original album.
