Lon Morris College is a 2 year liberal arts, faith-based private college located in Jacksonville, Texas. The student body averages above 300 students. Lon Morris College has been serving young people in East Texas and from around the world for over 150 years.
After attaining state accreditation in 1915-16, the school began, in 1919, to advertise itself as the oldest junior college in East Texas. In 1924 it took the name Lon Morris College to honor financial benefactor Alonzo Morris.
In 1924, the name was changed to Lon Morris College after Mr. R.A. (Lon) Morris left his entire estate to the school. Graduates in each generation of the school's history would become leaders in all walks of life.
