Rosemary Victoria Yuro (August 4, 1940 – March 30, 2004), known professionally as Timi Yuro, was an American singer. Sometimes called "the little girl with the big voice", [1] she is considered to be one of the first blue-eyed soul stylists of the rock era.
Little Timi was a radical vocal streetfighter, decades ahead of her turbulent time. Emotionally battered but yet a feisty survivor, Yuro's gutsy, singular voice--very urban on the signature hits, deeply countrified on the rarer Nashville covers--is thankfully not lost as the collection title suggests.

The remarkable voice of TIMI YURO led many to believe she was either a man, or black, or both. They were shocked to find such a powerful voice emanating from such a petite singer. Rising to fame with HURT, Yuro had a long run of US hits on Liberty.
