Er startete eine Solokarriere, tourte mehrmals wieder mit den alten Sex Pistols und arbeitete an Fernsehprojekten. Erst 2008 bekam er Lust, auch Public Image Ltd wieder aufleben zu lassen, und mit Lu Edmonds, Bruce Smith und Scott Firth als neuem Bassisten gingen sie im folgenden Jahr wieder auf Tour in Großbritannien.
