Local drummer Luke Narey has long been a fan of alternative metal band 10 Years. “I would blast their music while driving to and from [Edgewood] high school, but never would have imagined I’d have a chance to be part of the band one day,” Narey says. The band consists of lead vocalist Jesse Hasek, lead guitarist Brian Vodinh, rhythm guitarist Matt Wantland, bassist Chad Grennor, and drummer Luke Narey. The group has gone through multiple line-up changes since their inception, with Vodinh and Wantland being the only remaining founding members.
Luke Narey of Blue Rising is also currently the touring drummer for 10 Years. 2020-Today. While the pandemic raged, and in the wake of losing both his parents suddenly, singer Austin Frink was diagnosed with thryoid cancer. The surgery resulted in total vocal loss. Blue Rising took hiatus.
Luke Narey is the drummer for Blue Rising. In addition to the roles he plays in Blue Rising as co-songwriter, full-time drummer, and recording engineer, Narey also tours the world with rock band, 10 Years, from Knoxville, TN.
