He mentored and influenced many bluegrass and country artists, including Merle Haggard and Johnny Cash.
Mac Wiseman is a pioneer of bluegrass music who had a successful career in country music and a voice that was "The Voice with a Heart". He was born in 1925 in Virginia, played bass and guitar, and sang on radio and TV shows. He recorded many hit songs, such as "Little White Church", "I Still Write Your Name In the Sand", and "Shackles and Chains". He also worked as a promoter, a label owner, and a festival director.
