The Swiss government bought a long triangular plot next to the train tracks, between the Avenue de France and Avenue de la Paix, from the Swiss National Railways, on which it planned to build a “Maison de la Paix” (House of Peace) for the three centres, the Graduate Institute and the library.
The Maison de la paix is about two minutes’ walk from the tram stop, just across the railway bridge. Trams run every five minutes during the day. Single tickets cost CHF 3 and are valid for one hour, from anywhere in Geneva. A day-pass (from 9 a.m. until midnight) costs CHF 8, while a 24-hour pass costs CHF 10. GENEVA PUBLIC TRANSPORT.
