This is the third of the Sargent versions with the Huddersfield Choral Society and RLPO: the first (1946) sold over 120,000 sets.

To mark 50 years since the death of Malcolm Sargent, chief conductor of the Proms from 1947-1967, the BBC Proms recreated Sargent’s 500th Prom, originally performed on the first night of the 1966 season.
