Marc Garneau is a Canadian astronaut, engineer, politician and former naval officer. He was the first Canadian in space in 1984 and the president of the Canadian Space Agency from 2001 to 2005. He also served as Liberal house leader, minister of transport and minister of foreign affairs.

Marc Garneau is a former naval engineer and astronaut who flew in space three times as a Mission Specialist. He was the first Canadian astronaut to fly in space as a Payload Specialist on Shuttle Mission 41-G in 1984 and the first Canadian to walk in space on STS-97 in 2000. He is also a former President of the Canadian Space Agency and an Honorary Fellow of the Canadian Aeronautics and Space Institute.
