Marcel Fratzscher is an economist in macroeconomics, international finance, monetary economics and international policy co-ordination. He is the President of DIW Berlin, a leading economic research institution and think tank in Europe, and a Professor at Humboldt-University Berlin. He has prior experience at the ECB, the Peterson Institute, the Harvard Institute and the Asian Development Bank.

Since February 2013 he has been president of the Berlin-based economic research institute DIW Berlin. He was previously head of International Policy Analysis at the European Central Bank.
