Marcellus Hartley Dodge Sr. (February 28, 1881 – December 25, 1963) was the chairman of the board of Remington Arms Company and a member of the family associated with the Phelps Dodge Corporation. He was the president or director of several companies and the president of YMCA in the United States.

Biography. Marcellus Hartley Dodge, Sr. was born February 28, 1881in New York City, New York County New York, USA. He was the son of Norman White Dodge and Emma Hartley Marcellus Dodge married Ethel Geraldine Rockerfeller on April 16 1907. He passed away Dec 25 1963.

When Mrs. Dodge became incapacitated in the early 1960s, her husband, Marcellus Hartley Dodge, Sr. succeeded her as President. Sadly, he died shortly thereafter, in 1963. To this day, there has always been a Dodge descendent on the Board. The other trustees have been residents of Madison and surrounding communities.
Emma died in 1881 after giving birth to their only child, Marcellus Hartley Dodge Sr. He was raised by his grandparents and eventually became heir to the Hartley business and the largest part of the Hartley fortune.
