Marcus Cliffe (born 1962 in Leeds, Yorkshire, England) is an English professional musician. Career. In 1990, Marcus joined The Notting Hillbillies, a country rock project created by Mark Knopfler and Guy Fletcher of Dire Straits. They only recorded one album "Missing...Presumed Having a Good Time".
Marcus Cliffe (Bass) Born in Leeds in 1962, Marcus studied piano from the age of nine. He started playing bass guitar/double bass in high school then went on to Leeds College of Music to study Jazz and Light Music as a pianist, but changed to bass after one year and graduated in 1983.
26. Nov. 2023 · With drummer Pete Riley, Marcus Cliffe (bass), and Simon Currie (saxophone & flute) as the other members on this current Maximum Rhythm ‘n’ Blues tour, these guys clearly still enjoy touring and performing.
Paul Jones, with his unique harmonica sound, will be joined by Tom McGuinness on guitar, Pete Riley on drums, Mike Gorman on keyboards, Marcus Cliffe on bass, and Simon Currie on saxophone/flute.
Obgleich McGuiness teilweise Hilfe von Multi-Instrumentalist Marcus Cliffe in Anspruch nahm, statt sich live mit einer Band im Studio aufnehmen zu lassen (wozu er sicherlich in der Lage wäre), wirkt das aktuelle Material sehr schlüssig und nicht aseptisch zusammengestückelt.
