Marcus Cliffe (born 1962 in Leeds, Yorkshire, England) is an English professional musician, currently the bass player in The Manfreds, a reunion of members of the 1960s pop group Manfred Mann (minus Manfred Mann himself). [1] He has also worked with, amongst others, Brendan Croker, Mark Knopfler, Eric Clapton, and Rod Stewart.

Ed Bicknell and Marcus Cliffe were also present. This was the last time that Clark played with Knopfler within a full band. In 1993, two shows were performed, both without Guy Fletcher. Band member Brendan Croker died due to complications from leukaemia on 10 September 2023, at the age of 70.
This years sees the release of Marcus’s first solo album ‘Heard’ an album of Blues, soul and jazz influenced tunes showcasing Marcus’ talents as a guitar player and composer fronting an amazing band of world class players.
