Margaret Lemon (born c. 1614) was an English artist's model. She was the most painted female commoner of the seventeenth century, and she was the partner of Anthony van Dyck . Life. It is known that Lemon was English, but her date of birth can only be guessed by estimating her age in paintings of her.

Margaret Lemon s birth remains unknown; James has only surmised it to have been c1614. Nor have documents yet been found to establish the date during the 1630s when Margaret became Van Dyck s mistress. Evidence has, however, more recently been uncovered indicating that Margaret died by her own hand in Oxford
23 3/8 × 19 1/2 in. (59.5 × 49.5 cm) Private collection, New York. There is almost no surviving documentation for the life of Van Dyck’s mistress, Margaret Lemon, although some sources describe her as a famous courtesan.
