Schon bald übernahm Fry durch seine Präsenz als Sänger und die von ihm geschriebenen Lieder die künstlerische Kontrolle über die Band. 24. Nov. 2002 · The two members could not play at all, and one of them was impersonating the bass player, Mark Lickley who did all the playing on that album. At any rate, Mark Lickley seems to be a very underated bass player. I really haven't heard much about him, but he seems every bit as talented as Mark King.
In the new year, Singleton and White were joined by Mark Lickley on bass and David Robinson on drums. The Lexicon of Love, Beauty Stab & How to Be a Zillionaire: 1981–1985. The band's first single, "Tears Are Not Enough", made the UK top 20 in 1981.

The Lexicon of Love was again performed live in its entirety on 18 December 2012 at Theatre Royal, Drury Lane to mark its 30th anniversary. Dudley reprised her role as conductor, performing with the Southbank Sinfonia Orchestra, and they concluded a four-date mini-tour at the same venue on 30 March 2014.
