Marin Marais ( French: [maʁɛ̃ maʁɛ]; 31 May 1656, in Paris – 15 August 1728, in Paris) was a French composer and viol player. He studied composition with Jean-Baptiste Lully, often conducting his operas, and with master of the bass viol Monsieur de Sainte-Colombe for six months.
The album was notable for the absence of drummer Max Duhamel, Kataklysm's drummer, being temporarily replaced by Martin Maurais, due to injury. The album was again positively received and featured two of the band's best known tracks: "As I Slither" and "The Ambassador of Pain".
Recently Masterful Magazine had the chance to talk to mainman Maerk Asselin (vocals/guitar/bass) about this new band that includes ex-Kataklysm drummer Martin Maurais. Dechrist was formed in the summer of 2004, consisting of yourself and ex-Kataklysm drummer Martin Maurais.
