Maurice Bacon. Maurice Bacon was a member of the band Love Affair. Formed in London in 1966, The Love Affair headed a new wave of British teeny groups in 1968 when they reached #1 with Everlasting Love.
The band was formed in February 1966 as The Soul Survivors, with the original lineup of Steve Ellis (vocals), Ian Miller (guitar), Warwick Rose (bass), Morgan Fisher (keyboards), and Maurice Bacon (drums). In August 1966, Miller and Rose left and George Michael and Mick Jackson took their place.

The Love Affair started out as the Soul Survivors in early 1966, featuring Steve Ellis (vocals), Maurice 'Mo' Bacon (drums), Stephen Morgan Fisher (keyboards), Ian Miller (guitar), and Warwick Rose (bass). They were managed by Maurice's father, Sidney Bacon.
Maurice Bacon recently came across a list of songs that Love Affair performed live in 1967, pictured left. It shows that the Love Affair really were a diehard soul band before "Everlasting Love" came along and gave them the #1 hit and changed everything! Not unlike their North London predecessors the Dave Clark Five,the Love Affair - or the Soul Survivors, as they were originallyknown - were formed around their drummer, Maurice `Mo` Bacon (born 26/1/52).
