It's a very good film, describing in detail all kinds of inadaptability of scientists in ordinary people's society. Unfortunately, Gauss's part is too dull, as if he could only count it back and forth. Humboldt's exploration of primitive nature is much more interesting. Es ist dem Film durchaus gelungen zu zeigen, dass Wissenschaftler und die Köpfe des Jahrhunderts auch nur Menschen sind, zusehen müssen wie ihre Nachfolger sie überholen und ihre Erfolge und das Leben vergänglich sind. Es scheitert aber daran (besonders im Falle von Gauß) die Verschrobenheit der Wissenschaftler zu zeigen wie es das Buch tat. So kommt die Satire zu kurz.
