Years active. 1975–1978. Formerly of. The Babys. Michael John Siddons-Corby (born 3 July 1951) is a British former musician who was the founder of the 1970s hard rock group The Babys and responsible (along with manager Adrian Millar) for creating the band's concept.

Feb. 2023 · In 1974, Michael Corby was living in London and putting together The Babys – the band that would bring John Waite to the world's attention – when he happened to cross paths with Led Zeppelin. Little did he know he’d end up selling his favourite guitar to the day’s biggest guitar hero.
After recording their third album, Head First, in August 1978, co-founder Michael Corby was replaced by Jonathan Cain as keyboardist and Ricky Phillips took over as bassist. From late 1978 until the breakup in 1981, The Babys line-up consisted of vocalist Waite, drummer Brock, bassist Phillips, guitarist Stocker and keyboardist Cain.

Brock tells Ultimate Classic Rock : “When John Waite wanted to do his solo thing, and Jonathan Cain joined Journey, obviously it’s not easy to replace those guys.
