Sir Michael Kemp Tippett OM CH CBE (* 2. Januar 1905 in London; † 8. Januar 1998 ebenda) war ein englischer Komponist der modernen Musik. Tippett schrieb Opern, Orchester- und Chorwerke, Vokal- und Kammermusik. Sein bekanntestes Werk ist das Oratorium A Child of Our Time.
