Sweet (known as The Sweet until the early 1970s [1]) are a British glam rock band who rose to prominence in the 1970s. Their best-known line-up consisted of lead vocalist Brian Connolly, bassist Steve Priest, guitarist Andy Scott and drummer Mick Tucker.

Parlophone then drops them from the label. Sweetshop also experience two more major changes that year. Mick Stewart leaves and is replaced by guitarist Andrew David Scott who had recently moved to London after the previous band he was with called The Elastic Band broke up. The band finally ran out of road by 1981/82 with the posthumous release of "Identity Crisis". With Steve now living in the USA and Mick coming to terms with life after the sudden death of his first wife, the Sweet found themselves at a crossroads once again.
