Gemeinsam mit dem Gitarristen John Nuese stellte er eine Band zusammen, die den Schlagzeuger Mickey Gauvin und den Bassisten Ian Dunlap umfasste. Zu ihrem Bekanntenkreis gehörte der frühere Kinderstar Brandon deWild, der sie 1966 nach New York City holte.
Featuring Parsons on guitar and vocals, Ian Dunlop on bass and Mickey Gauvin on drums, the ISB failed to make a lasting impression on either the Top 40 Pop or Country charts with any of their recordings. In early 1966, the ISB moved to New York City, where they lived in a house purchased through Parsons' large trust fund.

5. Juli 2023 · By the time of the album’s recording, Dunlop and Gauvin had departed and session musicians were employed to round out the group. By the time the album was released, the band itself was no more.
28. März 2018 · Enlisting Ian Dunlop on bass and Mickey Gauvin on bass, they began exploring that direction in earnest. Appropriating their name from a classic "Our Gang" skit, the International Submarine Band left Boston for New York, eager to find a supportive label for their new sound.
30. Dez. 2020 · 1968 gründeten Parsons' ISB-Kollegen Ian Dunlop und Mickey Gauvin ein Nebenprojekt namens „The Flying Burrito Brothers” und luden ihn zum Mitmachen ein. Von dieser frühen Inkarnation existieren jedoch keine Aufnahmen. Dunlop und Gauvin widmeten sich anderen Dingen und überließen Parsons den Namen.
